Drushyam 3 update: The Venkatesh starrer locks shoot date and release timeline, here's what we know

After taking a long break, Telugu star Venkatesh is back on sets following the success of Sankranthiki Vasthunnam. He is currently shooting for Trivikram’s Adarsha Kutumbam, an action family drama.

A source close to the makers has revealed that Drushyam 3 will go on floors in the third week of July 2026. By then, director Jeethu Joseph will be done with the release formalities of the Malayalam version. He had directed both the first and second parts of the Telugu version.

The source also reports that the makers plan to release Drushyam 3 in October 2026 and have already confirmed a release date. The film is expected to be wrapped up in just three schedules without any breaks.

Drushyam, now streaming on OTTplay, is the official remake of Mohanlal's Drishyam and was a smash hit, bringing Venkatesh back into the game after a long gap. The family drama, thrills, and suspense factor were well-received by family audiences, and the film ultimately became a classic hit. 

However, the second part, Drushyam 2, was released directly on Amazon Prime Video due to COVID 19 lockdown. Despite that, it was loved by one and all. Naturally, audiences are eager to know when Venkatesh will bring the third part to the screen.

While many thought Venkatesh would focus only on Trivikram’s film, he has managed to squeeze in time for Drushyam 3 and will not sign any other project until it is completed.

This raises questions about when he will shoot for Anil Ravipudi’s Sankranthiki Vasthunnam 2, which is also scheduled for a Sankranthi 2027 release. Clearly, it will be a packed year for Venkatesh with three back-to-back films.

On the other hand, Venkatesh has also made a cameo in Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, which has emerged as a blockbuster at the box office, grossing over Rs 300 crore and showing no signs of slowing down. His cameo and scenes with Chiranjeevi are among the highlights of the film, directed by Anil Ravipudi.
