As Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi's DSP gears up for release on December 2, the makers released the audio and trailer of the film at a grand event yesterday. The 2 minute 11 second -long trailer features Vijay Sethupathi as a powerful police officer named Vasco Da Gama. Just like any other cop films, the actor will be seen taking down some ruthless villains in the film. He is also seen as someone with a joyous personality and a great sense of humour. Former beauty pageant winner Anukreethy VAS plays the leading lady. She plays a basketball player who dreams of becoming a police officer, but is unable to make it. The sneak peek of the chemistry between the two lead actors promises a fun ride. Prabhakar (of Bahubali fame) plays the lead villain in the film.

Music for the film is by D Imman. The trailer and the songs were launched at a grand event in Chennai last evening. The chief guest for the event was none other than Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and Vijay Sethupathi received the bouquet from him by kneeling down. He later hugged his Vikram co-star. The camaraderie between the two has won the hearts of many.

Speaking at the event, Vijay Setthupathi had stated that he was eagerly awaiting the film's release and hopes that everyone likes the film. Ponram, too, had earlier said that he had waited long to work with Vijay Sethupathi.

What's interesting is that Ponram, who is known for making films in a village backdrop (namely Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam and Rajini Murugan), has made DSP in a small town. The supporting cast includes Ilavarasu, Deepa, former Bigg Boss contestant Shivani Narayanan, Pugazh to name a few. Cinematography is by Dinesh Krishnan and editing is by Vivek Harshan respectively. The film has been cleared with a U/A certificate and will hit screens next week.
