Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Julia Michaels, Jon Batiste, and Cynthia have recently been photographed for The Hollywood Reporter's Songwriter shoot as The Hit Squad. In an intimate chat at The Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica, the 6 musicians shared anecdotes about their creative journeys.

Lipa coined the term ‘dance-crying’ to describe the emotional resonance of their music, while Batiste emphasised the therapeutic power of music, specifically citing Eilish and Rodrigo as artists his wife found solace in during her cancer treatment. The gathering was arranged to discuss the testament to the transformative power of music, fostering connections and providing comfort through shared experiences.

Dua's secret

While chatting over their experiences, the musicians also talked about what makes Award worthy music. Dua revealed that sometimes she writes about her life events and puts it in her song, to which everyone instantly agreed with her. It's quite amazing to know that you can get to know about your favourite singer’s life through their songs.

Billie shared her feelings about her songs

On the other hand, Billie shared that she feels more relatable with her old songs now, more than she ever did. It's like her songs have become more devine now to her, than it was when she first released them a few years back, and we absolutely agree with her as well. Not only for her, but it's the same for us too.
