Dude is all set to release in theatres in a day, and the team is currently touring to promote the film. Starring Pradeep Ranganthan and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles, Dude is aiming to capitalise on the Diwali festive weekend. During the pre-release event held at Hyderabad, Pradeep Ranganathan recounted when Mamitha Baiju broke his phone.

Dude is one of the three Tamil films to release for Diwali this week. At a pre-release event in Hyderabad, Pradeep Ranganathan blamed Mamitha Baiju for damaging his phone and even showed it to the press.
"It was during a photoshoot, she (Mamitha) had a lot of energy and did not know where to put it out. So, when we were taking (photos), she was kicking me. You saw me pulling her hair now, and that is nothing in front of what she did. She kicked me in such a way that the phone in my pocket fell on the other terrace and broke,” Pradeep Ranganathan said, recalling the incident, as he showed his phone to the audience. A surprised Mamitha asked if she did, to which Pradeep said, "You only did. You would remember if it was yours, but I do.”

Dude will release on October 17, along with two other films; Bison and Diesel. Dude is written and directed by Keerthiswaran in his directorial debut and also features actors Sarathkumar, Rohini, Hridhu Haroon, Neha Sshetty and others.
The film is expected to revolve around two childhood buddies, with one of them developing feelings for other. Touted to be a romantic commercial entertainer, Dude has music by Sai Abhyankkar. After the successes of Love Today and Dragon, Pradeep Ranganathan is expected to score a hat-trick of blockbusters with Dude. Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film.
