Dude box office collection day 7: Not Suriya, Kamal Haasan but Pradeep Ranganathan is his own competition; will he break Dragon record?

Pradeep Ranganathan is on a hit spree, and his latest film Dude has been the hat-trick success for him. The film, as the makers claim, has already entered the 100-crore club, making it three in a row for Pradeep and second this year itself after Dragon. As per the Sacnilk report, Dude has made Rs 87.15 crore, within a week of release, as it is looking to go strong for the next few days as well.

Dude, the recently released Tamil film starring actor and director Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead role, has now made it to the prestigious 100-crore club, and it is the third time for the young star in the making. Dude, as per Sacnilk’s latest report, has made Rs 87.15 crore (nett), while the film’s daily earnings have been dipping ever since Wednesday, which saw the end of Diwali holidays and the beginning of heavy rains in Tamil Nadu.

Nevertheless, Dude has gained seventh position so far among the top 10 highest grossers of Tamil cinema this year, already beating Kamal Haasan's Thug Life, Suriya-starrer Retro, Madharaasi and Tourist Family. However, one has to wait and watch if Pradeep will be able to break his own record (Dragon), which made about Rs 150 crore earlier this year.

Now, all eyes are on Pradeep’s next film Love Insurance Kompany, which will release on December 18, curious to know if the young star would be able to continue his success streak.

Dude will not drop on OTT anytime soon, given its massive theatrical run. However, after this, the Pradeep Rangananthan-starrer will find its digital home on Netflix. Directed by debutant Keerthiswaran, the romantic entertainer also stars Mamitha Baiju, Sarathkumar, Rohini, Hridhu Haroon and others.
