After delivering two back-to-back hits with Love Today and Dragon, actor and director Pradeep Ranganathan’s third film Dude released in theatres, for Diwali. The film, which resonated with youth audience, has been doing well in theatres. The romantic entertainer, which also features Mamitha Baiju, has been subjected to comparison to various films, with netizens connecting the plot.

The plot of Dude revolves around two cousins-childhood friends Agan and Kural. After Agan rejects Kural’s proposal, the latter leaves the city for higher studies. But when Agan realises his love for her, and wants to confess, it is too late given Kural has fallen in love with someone else already. However, due to family pressure Agan and Kural fake a marriage, only so that Kural can live with her lover later.

These include Vijay’s Shahjahan in which he unites the girl he is secretly in love with, with her boyfriend, Arya 2 in which Allu Arjun marries Kajal Agarwal so that she can later reunite with her lover.
