Dude, the 2025 Tamil entertainer, starring actors Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles, made its streaming debut. Dude OTT release: Agan and Kural fall in love with each other?

From the trailer of Dude, it was revealed that Pradeep’s Agan and Mamitha’s Kural are best friends who get to experience unrequited love. In the film, they play thick friends and first cousins who run a surprise even management. It is at the very beginning when Kural confesses to Agan her feelings and ask him to marry her. But Agan who only sees her as friend, dismisses leaving a heartbroken Kural shift to Bangalore for higher studies. It is at this time, Agan truly realises his love for her and asks his uncle and Kural’s father Athiyamaan to arrange a marriage between them. Just a few days before the wedding, Agan meets Kural who has come back from studies, and confesses that she does not love Agan anymore because she has fallen for another guy Paari (Hridhu Haroon). As they decide to open up this matter to Athiyamaan, a powerful minister and cancel the wedding, the duo are taken aback by her father’s unknown side. Athiyamaan, after learning that Paari is not of their caste, threatens to kill Kural if she has any thoughts of marrying her. He further reveals how he killed his other sister due to the same reasons, since then making Agan’s mother not get along with Athiyamaan. Shocked by her father’s casteist side, Kural and Agan manage to convince Athiyamaan that what they said is a prank.

Did Agan and Kural get married?

Even as Agan helps Kural and Paari who has reached the wedding venue to elope, they understand that Athiyamaan’s powerful alliances across states will hunt the duo down and kill them. There is no way they can fly out of India given Paari does not have passport. It is at this time, Paari suggests that Kural and Agan get married and fake it for the time being and then can find a way out. Surprisingly, Agan who first denies being a scapegoat, does for the love for Kural and sacrifices his life. Eventually they get married. But as Agan and Kural are bombarded with the love of their family, and even pressured for a baby, they try to leave abroad with the help of Agan’s former lover who is now in Canada. By the time everything is set, Kural’s visa is rejected because she is pregnant with Paari’s baby.

Will Kural abort the baby to escape her father?

Athiyamaan who is now rejoiced of becoming a grandfather, takes care of Agan and Kural. With Agan deciding to abort the baby, Kural is firm that her maternal instincts have kicked in and wants to keep it. Paari too supports this decision and after much thought, the trip decide to go for the pregnancy. Athiyamaan, who is still believing that it is Agan and Kural’s baby, takes care of his daughter. Eventually, she gives birth to a son who becomes the apple of their eye. With everything now set, Paari and Kural are all set to fly to Canada. It is at this time, Kural gets to know Agan had harboured feelings for her all this while and that had sacrificed his life for her. Pained by this, Kural is determined to find a girl for Agan before she starts a life with Paari. At the same time, Agan files for divorce, angering Athiyamaan further for throwing away his daughter.

Did Agan find true love?

This has created enough confusion between the two families, as Athiyamaan does not leave Agan for hurting his daughter. He even tries to comfort her, when Kural reveals everything to her father, including the fake marriage and true father to his grandson. Angered by this, Athiyamaan sets out to abandon the baby which he considers is not from his pure bloodline. But suffering an heart attack on the way, Athiyamaan soon realises his mistakes after learning how it was his grandson who saved his life by crying and making some noise for attention. We come to know that this is well-knitted story that Agan spun to create sympathy while in reality it was him who found the unconscious Athiyamaan and admitted him in hospital. Meanwhile, the latter who has realised his mistakes accepts Paari and Kural, and surrenders to the police for his sister’s murder.

With Paari and Kural now reunited, Agan gets to know that a girl from company, has fallen for him and accepts the proposal. The film ends on a happy note with Agan and Kural eventually getting to be with their loved ones.
