Dude OTT release: Will Netflix space out Pradeep Rangananthan film’s streaming debut to avoid clash with Bison?

Dude, the Pradeep Ranganathan-starring Tamil romantic drama, has minted over Rs 100 crore, as the film has become officially the actor-director’s third consecutive flick to make great numbers. With the film nearly its end of theatrical run by the next week, fans are waiting for release on OTT. Dude’s post-theatrical streaming rights are with Netflix, with a premiere date yet to be announced.

Dude OTT release: Will it clash with Bison?

Dude is a recently released Tamil film, which is running in selected theatres and screens, as it is in its fag end of big screen run. The film, which has been declared as a commercial winner, stars Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles. Dude has made over Rs 100 crore, and with Netflix bagging the OTT rights, it might drop anytime this month.

However, while Dude had released for Diwali in theatres, it clashed with another Tamil film Bison, at the box office. Both the films released on October 17. Now, with Netflix also bagging the rights of Bison, it is highly unlikely that the streaming giant will debut both the releases around the same time. One has to wait and watch if Dude will make it to OTTs first or Bison, which stars Dhruv Vikam.

Box office wise, Dude is far ahead of Bison which has made about Rs 60 crore worldwide so far. But with Bison picking up after the second week because of word of mouth, its run is going strong. An official release dates for the films should be unveiled by Netflix soon.
