It’s now become a habit of sorts for Mammootty fans to wait for his son Dulquer Salmaan’s heartfelt social media messages on the megastar’s birthday. And this time, it’s a special occasion too as Mammootty is celebrating his 70th birthday, the same year he completed 50 years in the film industry.

Dulquer took to his social media page to post a special birthday message along with a photo of Mammootty. “I give up. How does one even appear in the same frame and try to justify being there when you look like that,” started the young star, before going on to say that his family feels fortunate and “luckiest” and are constantly reminded of that when the world celebrates the megastar constantly.

Wishes for the megastar have been pouring in since Monday, with Mohanlal giving several interviews, talking about his association with the actor and also how he looks up to Mammootty as an elder brother and a role model.

Prithviraj too said that Mammootty has been an inspiration for zillions of “dreamers” and wished the megastar a happy birthday.

Kunchacko was another Mollywood actor, who thanked Mammootty for being there in “my happiest moments and comforting soul during my trying times”. He wished the actor for turning “sweet seventyeen” and also thanked him for being “an undying inspiration” to all those who wish to enter the film industry. Both Kunchacko and Tovino Thomas also shared photos of the megastar with their children.

Meanwhile, Mammootty is set to begin shooting for Puzhu, which is directed by Ratheena Sharshad and also has Parvathy in the lead. He is also part of Amal Neerad’s Bheeshma Parvam and CBI5, and has an unannounced direct-to-OTT film on the cards.
