The family comedy-entertainer is directed by actor Ganapathi’s brother Chidambaram
While there has been a deluge of thrillers from Mollywood including Drishyam 2, Joji, Cold Case and Nayattu, the upcoming comedy entertainer Janeman will be a welcome break. Dulquer Salmaan released the teaser of the movie today through his social media page.
The movie, which is directed by actor Ganapathi’s brother Chidambaram, has a host of actors including Lal, Arjun Ashokan, Balu Varghese, Basil Joseph, Sidharth Menon, Abhiram Radhakrishnan and Ganapathi. Apart from Riya Sara and Ganga Meera, the film has a host of new faces.
Jaaneman, which is billed as a family comedy entertainer, marks the debut directorial of Chidambaram, who had earlier assisted filmmakers Jayaraj, Rajeev Ravi and cinematographer KU Mohanan.
Janeman's 45-second teaser has Basil Joseph's character narrating a love story to Siddharth Menon's character. The hero is stranded in a snow-covered hill station by the looks of it and lives out in isolation, without hope or even a twist in the tale.
The movie’s cinematography is handled by Vishnu Thandassery, who had worked as associate director to Amal Neerad, Samir Thahir and Shyju Khalid. The film's music is composed by Bijibal.
The movie was extensively shot in Ernakulam after the lockdown restrictions were eased last year. In an interview with Kochi Times ahead of the film’s shoot, Chidambaram had said that Janeman is a feel-good movie revolving around friendships and relationships between parents and siblings.
Meanwhile, Dulquer is currently awaiting the release of his big-budget film Kurup. He had also completed the shoot of Rosshan Andrrews’ Salute and Tamil movie Hey Sinamika.
