Dulquer Salmaan's victorious streak across multiple languages got another major boost recently with the stupendous success of his latest release Sita Ramam, his second direct Telugu film after Mahanati. Sita Ramam, written and directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, had him paired alongside Mrunal Thakur and hit theatres last weekend on August 5. The film released in three languages - Telugu, Tamil and Hindi versions- simultaneously and is performing well in Indian and select international locations too.

Thanking the Telugu audience for the unanimous response to Sita Ramam on social media, the actor went back in time and remembered many people who helped establish his presence in the Telugu market. He remained grateful to Mani Ratnam for taking a chance with him and letting OK Kanmani release in Telugu as OK Bangaram. "You all took a chance on me and gave me immense love in my first outing," he said. Dulquer shared that he was surprised by the love he received for his performance as Gemini Ganesan in Mahanati.

"Nagi (Nag Ashwin) and Vyjayanthi (Movies) gave me the opportunity to play Gemini in Mahanati and even though it had grey shades, the love and respect I got for the role and film was unlike anything I expected. Ammadi became a permanent part of my life wherever I went," he added. The warm reception to the other dubbed releases like Kanulu Kanulu Dochayante and Kurup was equally overwhelming, the actor-producer stated.

When producer Swapna Dutt and director Hanu Raghavapudi approached him for Sita Ramam, Dulquer felt he was in safe hands. "I knew we would be delivering a quality film and I want to always do only those straight Telugu films that will be unique and pathbreaking." The star said that the film was a combined effort of many artists and crew and credits the teamwork for its success. "I cried on the day of release because I was so overwhelmed with the film and how people were accepting it."

Thanking the cinema loving audience of Telugu, he labelled them as the biggest believers in the art of cinema and expressed gratitude to them for making him feel like their own.
