The King of Kotha and Guns & Gulaabs star has been roped in to play the lead in Goli, a film that is being helmed by Karthikeyan Velappan, Atlee's assistant
Dulquer Salmaan has been cementing his reputation as a pan-Indian actor by doing lead roles in languages other than Malayalam. His upcoming film, King of Kotha, will be released in 5 languages worldwide and the actor has been promoting the film across the country.
Kalyani Priyadarshan and Dulquer Salmaan in Goli?
Now, according to recent reports, Dulquer has been roped in to star in a Tamil film opposite Kalyani Priyadarshan. The film, titled Goli, is helmed by Karthikeyan Velappan, who has worked as an assistant to Jawan director Atlee.
Goli is a romantic drama that is likely to feature another female lead along with Kalyani. The film will be a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual bankrolled by Dulquer's Wayfarer Films and Zee Studios. GV Prakash Kumar, known for Soorarai Pottru and Asuran, will compose the music for the film.
Dulquer and Kalyani reunite after Varane Avashyamund
Dulquer and Kalyani were previously seen together in Varane Avashyamund, a comedy romantic drama helmed by Anoop Sathyan. The film also had veteran actors Suresh Gopi and Shobana.
Goli is the fourth Tamil film of Kalyani, who was also seen in Maanaadu and Putham Pudhu Kaalai. Her new Tamil fantasy movie, Genie, is currently in the production stage. The Thallumaala actress will also feature in Joshiy's Antony alongside Joju George.
Dulquer Salmaan's upcoming projects
Meanwhile, Dulquer's upcoming release is King of Kotha, an action gangster drama. The film is mounted on a big scale will hit theatres on August 24. The actor's debut web series, Guns and Gulaabs, will be available to stream on Netflix starting August 18.
The Hindi series is a gangster comedy that is seven episodes long. Dulquer will essay the role of a cop in the web series that is set in the 1990s.
Lucky Bhaskar, helmed by Venky Atluri, is Dulquer's upcoming Telugu project. The film revolves around a financial scam and will commence filming in October.
Dulquer will be also joining hands with Rana Daggubati for a multilingual film, titled Kaantha. The King of Kotha actor will headline and co-produce the film with Rana's Spirit Media.
