The new official trailer for Dune: Part 2 is three minutes of nonstop planet-hopping action. It's the second installment of Denis Villeneuve's trilogy adapting Frank Herbert's classic science fiction novel. The November 3, 2023 release date has been announced for the Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures film.

Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya) fight the demonic Harkonnens in new footage from director Denis Villeneuve's adaptation of Frank Herbert's classic novel, while Paul struggles with being hailed as a prophet. In addition, Christopher Walken's scheming Emperor is shown for the first time in the footage.

Paul says in the trailer, "The power to destroy a thing is absolute control over it," which is one of the most memorable passages from the book.

Austin Butler stars in the trailer as the albino Feyd Rautha, whom Villeneuve has characterised as an 'Olympic sword master crossed with a psychopathic serial murderer'.

Florence Pugh, who plays Princess Irulan Corrino; Léa Seydoux, who plays Lady Margot; and Souheila Yacoub, who plays Shishakli, are all newbies to the series.

The first film received 11 Oscar nods, including Best Picture, and this new trailer is the first official one to appear since it debuted at CinemaCon in May. Editor Joe Walker, production designer Patrice Vermette, composer Hans Zimmer, and visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert all returned from the Oscar-winning Dune: Part One crew. Former nominee and costume designer Jacqueline West is back.

Dune 2, produced by Warner Bros. and Legendary, will be released in theatres on November 3. Although the third film based on Herbert's follow-up novel Dune Messiah has not yet been greenlit, Villeneuve has expressed interest in making it. The sequel is expected to earn more than $402 million worldwide.
