Dunki: Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani finally announce their first collaboration, watch video

After much anticipation, Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan finally announce their first collaboration, 'Dunki'. The comedy-drama film also stars Taapsee Pannu. The makers took a quirky video featuring the director-actor duo to inform the movie-goers about this upcoming project.

The latest montage begins with Shah Rukh appreciating a wall filled with Hirani's earlier movie posters such as the Sanjay Dutt starrer Munna Bhai MBBS, Ranbir Kapoor's Sanju and more. King Khan asks the filmmaker if he has something like his earlier films for him as well, to which Hirani replies that he has a script for him that has comedy and emotion but less romance. After that, he announces the name of the film, which is Dunki. The title of the movie shocks the superstar, however, he is ready to take up the chance.

Confirming the development, Rajkumar Hirani said in a recent statement that Shah Rukh has always been on his wishlist. 

Talking about his upcoming project Shah Rukh mentioned that he is extremely happy to finally collaborate with Hirani. "Raju ke liye main Donkey, Monkey...kuch bhi ban sakta hoon!" said the actor.

Meanwhile, adding further, Taapsee said that she is beyond excited to embark on this journey and be a part of this very special film. "It’s my first time working with Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan, two people who I deeply respect and admire,” she added.

Backed by Hirani's Rajkumar Hirani Films and Shah Rukh-Gauri Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment, Dunki is slated to release on December 22, 2023.
