Prabhas is currently riding high on the success of his film, Salaar. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the violent thriller took a bumper opening at the box office in India. The movie hit the silver screen on December 22. A day before its release, Shah Rukh Khan's film Dunki saw the light of the day on December 21. However, in this box office clash, the Prashant Neel directorial is way ahead of Rajkumar Hirani's movie.

Considering the BO collections of both movies so far, Prabhas' Salaar currently stands at ₹145 crore whereas Shah Rukh Khan's movie is presently at ₹75 crore.

Dunki vs Salaar box office collection

According to early estimates by Sacnilk, the Prabhas starrer minted around ₹55 crore on day two at the ticket window, which is a bit low as compared to its first-day collection of ₹90 crore. On the other hand, Rajkumar's movie, featuring Shah Rukh, earned approximately ₹25.50 crore. Although Dunki lags behind Salaar in the box office game, the film did witness a slight jump on day 3 at the box office, compared to its day collection of ₹20.12 crore.

Biggest opening film of 2023

Meanwhile, Salaar emerged as the biggest opening film of 2023. The Prabhas film minted around ₹90 crore, thereby surpassing the day one box office collection of Ranbir Kapoor'ss Animal, Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaann and Jawan. The worldwide collection of Salaar, on the other hand, was ₹178 crore on day one.

Dunki vs Pathaan and Jawan

As for Dunki, the film couldn't dethrone SRK's films, Pathaan and Jawan, at the box office. The day one collection of the Rajkumar Hirani movie was ₹29.20 crore, which is low as compared to Pathaan and Jawan. While Siddharth Anand directorial earned ₹57 crore, the Atlee movie collected ₹75 crore. All in all, Shah Rukh's third film of the year is slowly gaining momentum but it still lags behind his blockbuster hits of 2023.
