Despite opening to mixed reviews, Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki's phenomenal run at the box office continues!

The non-holiday release of Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki saw a strong first day at the box office. Rajkumar Hirani's film, which is SRK's third release of the year, took in Rs 30 crores on opening day at the box office. On the second day, though, it lost ground and only made Rs 20.12 crore.
After just five days of release, SRK's Dunki has already made an astounding Rs 250 crore at the box office globally. t currently stands at Rs 256.40 crore. It collected almost ₹130 crore from India alone out of the ₹256 crore collected worldwide.
Dunki scored well at the box office, although it was unable to surpass the opening day records set by Shah Rukh's two prior 2023 releases, Jawan and Pathaan. On its first day of release, Pathaan brought in Rs 57 crore, while Jawan brought in Rs 74.50 in all Indian languages.
Dunki Vs Salaar box office battle
It is to be noted that Salaar, starring Prabhas, and Dunki competed at the box office. Salaar has been outperforming Dunki at the box office and posing a serious threat. Salaar has amassed ₹402 crore at the global box office thus far, setting numerous records in the process.
Directed by Prashanth Neel, the story of Salaar revolves around two friends, Deva and Vardha, portrayed by Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, who become rivals. The film also stars Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Eshwari Rao, and Sriya Reddy.

Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan collaborated for the first time in the film, Dunki. The plot centers on a group of friends who wish to go overseas, and it highlights their difficulties on the unusual trip known as the 'Donkey Flight', a method of illegal immigration.
In addition to Shah Rukh the comedy-drama Dunki also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover. The movie is Khan's third and last release of 2023, coming after the success of his back-to-back action blockbusters Jawan and Pathaan.
