Duranga trailer: Gulshan Devaiah and Drashti Dhami’s marriage is marred by a dark secret

The return of a sadistic serial killer, a couple very much in love, and a shocking secret festering beneath a picture perfect marriage- these are the elements that promise to make Duranga a thrilling story indeed. The makers unveiled the trailer for the upcoming ZEE5 series, as well as its release date.

The trailer shows how a sadistic serial killer has returned to his murderous ways after a gap of almost 17 years. As people start to wonder if the original killer has indeed returned or whether the new killings are the work of a copycat, inspector Ira is tasked with bringing the killer to justice. Ira’s family seems to be picture perfect, with her loving husband Sammit and the couple’s young daughter. But unknown to her, her husband is the very killer she seeks, hiding behind the facade of a loving family man.

Sharing the trailer on their official social media handles, ZEE5 captioned the post “Will the secrets of the dark past return to haunt the bright future?”.

Gulshan Devaiah and Drashti Dhami star as Sammit and Ira. Hera Mishra,Rajesh Khattar,Divya Seth,Zakir Hussain,Barkha Bisht and Abhijit Khandkekar also essay pivotal roles in the series. Pradeep Sarkar and Aijaz Khan have directed the series, which is the Hindi remake of the acclaimed Korean crime thriller, Flower of Evil.

Goldie Behl and Shradha Singh have produced the upcoming show. In a statement, Goldie spoke of how the series tried to explore marriage through a unique and ‘twisted’ lens. The filmmaker said that although Gulshan and Drashti seemed to be an ‘unusual’ pairing, it worked very well for the kind of story they wanted to tell. He also revealed that their characters came from very different backgrounds as well.

Duranga will be available to stream on ZEE5 from August 19, 2022.
