Dwayne Johnson’s films have always been action-packed. For the same, the actors are expected to be fit. The Rock has a body double in Tanoai Reed, who carries out the action sequences for the actor for two decades. The same was the case with their recent, most-awaited DC movie titled Black Adam, which has been often tagged as the toughest collaboration ever.
In a recent chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Dwayne opened up about their decade long team up and more insights about actors who put on fake muscles. The project had demanded the actors to be in the best shapes of their lives.
In the interview, the actor made fun of other superhero actors who use padded muscles to get in shape. “We have got to get in the best shape of our lives because I don’t want to be these other actors who put these fake padded muscles in”, he said.
Helmed by Jaume Collet Serra, Black Adam is the first superhero movie of the wrestler-turned-actor. It will also mark the live-action debut of the Justice Society of America, precursor to the Justice League.
The movie features Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone. Marwan Kenzari, the Old Guard actor, will be seen as the antagonist.
Meanwhile, Black Adam, is a fan-favourite character among the DC fans. Often he appears as an anti-hero, and sometimes the nemesis of Shazam. Black Adam is also expected to lock horns with Zachary Levi’s Shazam in the upcoming project.
