Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s 2015 action thriller San Andreas has fans flocking to theatres to catch the film. The latest reports suggest that the makers of the film are in work to develop a potential sequel to the movie.

Talking to Screen Rant, Hiram Garcia, one of the producers of the film said that they were in talks for a potential sequel to the movie.

“We actually have ideas. We're working on something there on how we can continue that story. So, look, disaster movies are so much fun, and that was such a great concept.” said Garcia in the interview.

He adds that the studios like the idea of a sequel and that they would like to do something in that space and would love to tell a story in that same universe.

San Andreas tells the story of Raymond "Ray" Gaines (Dwayne Johnson), a Los Angeles rescue pilot along with his ex-wife who sets off to save their daughter on the coast of California.

The movie also starred Carla Gugino, Alexandra Daddario, Ioan Gruffudd, Paul Giamatti, Archie Punjabi, and Kylie Minogue in other important roles.

The movie became a big commercial hit, which was followed by reports of a sequel with the original cast returning in 2016, but went cold. The latest reports offer exciting news to the fans of the original movie.

The Rock is one of the most sought after actors today, who was last seen in Jungle Cruise, Red Notice, and the TV series Young Rock.
