Three months after the first set of 6 episodes of Tanaav Season 2 dropped on OTT, the remaining six were scheduled to be available at midnight on December 6. In a surprise move, though, the streamer gave fans an early treat by releasing Tanaav Season 2 Volume 2 several hours ahead of schedule. The six episodes – Undercover Emotions, Web of Secrecy, Love in the Line of Fire, Threads of Deception, Into The Darkness and Point of No Return – are now streaming on Sony LIV and are available on OTTplay Premium as well.
Starring Manav Vij, Gaurav Arora, Kabir Bedi, Rajat Kapoor, Ekta Kaul, and Danish Husain, among others, the first season of the series set in Kashmir, was a major success. The second season’s first volume had ended on a cliffhanger, with the arrest of Shashank Arora’s Junaid. He’s being held in a cell along with an undercover police officer pretending to be an inmate. Will Junaid spill incriminating details, or will he sniff out the deception?
Other plot points that are likely to be explored in the second volume is how Kabir Farooqui (Manav Vij) deals with the fact that the safety of his family is compromised, after Fareed Mir (Gaurav Arora) sends him a picture that disturbs him. Volume 2 will likely be all-out war between Kabir and Fareed.
Ekta Kaul’s Dr Farah’s equation with Kabir will also be a subject of interest this season, considering that she was instrumental in the arrest of her husband, Junaid. Will sparks fly between Dr Farah and Kabir?
Directed by Sudhir Mishra and Sachin Krishn, Tanaav is a remake of the Israeli TV series Fauda, with the setting changed to conflict between state-run Special Task Group (STG) and Pakistan based terrorists in the Kashmir Valley. The response to the show has been mixed, oscillating between positive and middling.
