ED Extra Decent on OTT: Where to watch Suraj Venjaramoodu's Malayalam dark comedy film

Suraj Venjaramoodu’s ED Extra Decent, directed by Aamir Pallikkal, released in theatres in December 2024. Now, after more than 3 months, the Malayalam dark comedy is set to make its OTT debut on Saina Play. From plot to cast, here’s everything you need to know about the Suraj Venjaramoodu-starrer.

Suraj Venjaramoodu's ED Extra Decent on OTT

Suraj Venjaramoodu ventured into production with ED Extra Decent last year. Though the Malayalam film hit theatres as a Christmas release on December 20 along with Unni Mukundan’s Marco, Extra Decent did not find a home in the OTT space. Now, Saina Play has finally confirmed that it will be streaming ED Extra Decent soon. However, the platform did not confirm when the film will be available for streaming. The film is likely to be available only in Malayalam on the platform. 

ED Extra Decent cast and plot

Helmed by Aamir Pallikkal, the film revolves around a middle-aged man named Binu, who resides with his family. However, after he comes across some dark secrets about his ‘decent’ family, things take a turn.  

Suraj Venjaramoodu, who has impressed viewers with his performance in Kaanekkaane, stars in the lead role of Binu Das, while Grace Antony plays his sister Nishima. Sudheer Karamana and Vinaya Prasad play their parents. Shyam Mohan of Premalu fame plays the character Sanju. 

ED and other Christmas releases

When ED was released, Suraj’s performance was lauded by critics who panned the inconsistent writing. It hardly made any waves at the box office. 

The film also faced tough competition from other Christmas releases such as Aashiq Abu’s Rifle Club and Unni Mukundan’s Marco. It needs to be noted that Rifle Club, which starred Vijayaraghavan, Dileesh Pothan, Anurag Kashyap, Vani Viswanath, and Hanumankind, dropped on OTT within a month of its release. And the action-packed Marco followed a month later, and is now available for streaming on OTTplay Premium.

But there was no update on the ED OTT release till now. However, Suraj Venjaramoodu’s film is expected to find an audience when it makes its digital debut.
