Edagaiye Apaghatakke Karana had Diganth playing Lohith, a left-hander, who faces a string of mishaps owing to the side he naturally favours. Edagaiye Apaghatakke Karana was marketed as a dark comedy, with much of the humour revolving around death and Lohith’s efforts to stay out of trouble. Dhanu Harsha complements Diganth well, while his Pancharangi co-star Nidhi has precious little to do. Nirup Bhandari has a pivotal cameo in the film, which is a highlight of Edagaiye Apaghatakke Karana.
With close to 130 films released in the first 6 months of the year, a very small fraction have landed on OTT so far. Edagaiye Apaghatakke Karana is only the 9th in the second quarter of the year, of which, barring Agnyathavasi, every other title dropped on Amazon Prime Video. Agnyathavasi is the only Kannada film to have made it to Z5 this year, while Sun NXT has largely been picking up older titles that are on non-exclusive deals and looking for a second streamer, like, Laughing Buddha, Vidyapati, etc.
