There was reasonably good buzz surrounding the Kannada dark comedy Edagaiye Apaghtakke Karana courtesy its promotional materials. The Samarth Kadkol directorial seemed genuinely funny. But when the film, led by Diganth Manchale hit theatres, it didn't quite hit the mark. Edagaiye Apaghatakke Karana ended its theatrical run after a 25 day stint , by which time the team had figured a streaming deal.

OTTplay had reported that the film had been picked up by Amazon Prime Video and that it would drop on the platform shortly. Well, Edagaiye Apaghatakke Karana has made its way to Prime Video, landing on the streamer on July 25, 2025, and is currently available in the Kannada original and a Hindi dubbed version.

The comedy content apart, Edagaiye Apaghatakke Karana was in the news because it reunited Pancharangi co-stars Diganth and Nidhi Subbaiah. The film also stars newbie Dhanu Harsha, Radhika Narayan, Krishna Hebbale and Nirup Bhandari, among others.

The film had Diganth as a left-hander Lohith, whose friend Pooja (Nidhi) falls to her death from a 9th floor balcony. In his desperate attempt to avoid cops, he makes his way to the next apartment, where even bigger trouble awaits him. Can Lohith extricate himself from this mess? That's what the film is all about.

Edagaiye Apaghtakke Karana was Diganth's first release for the year. The actor had films like Bachelor Party, Marigold, Laughing Buddha, The Judgement and Powder in theatres last year, but none had worked out for him.

In a conversation with OTTplay, the actor had admitted that he'd been unlucky with his choice of films, even though his performances in most had been lauded. He added that often he's been disappointed that the films do not turn out how they had been envisioned on paper. The best he could do in that situation was to ensure he'd give his best to his roles and have audiences take note.
