Eddelu Manjunatha 2 team says that the major challenge with the edit was that the late Guruprasad never worked with a bound script

Eddelu Manjunatha 2, the last directorial by the late filmmaker-actor Guruprasad, is currently entangled in some legal hurdles, what with the director’s widow, obtaining a stay order against its release. But that is not the biggest issue for the team, comprising one of the major stakeholders, Mysuru Ramesh, Ravi Dixit, etc. The film has got an A certificate, and has been tailored for a section of audience only, who do not mind Guruprasad’s brand of adult-comedy laced humour.
Guruprasad was working on the post-production of Eddelu Manjunatha 2, in which he has played the main lead, when he decided to take the extreme step of ending his life. The filmmaker was, reportedly, steeped in debt, following the failure of his previous directorial, Ranganayaka and was hopeful of a resurgence with Eddelu Manjunatha 2. At the time of his passing, though, the film was not complete and there are allegations that Guruprasad may have even deleted portions.
The team, including editor Uday, have put the film together and given it some form of finality, but Ramesh admits that the climax could be a bit of a let-down, compared to the rest of Eddelu Manjunatha, because Guruprasad never worked with a bound script and was all about improvisation. The lack of a script became an issue for the team when they sat down to edit the raw footage, with no audio.

The film, according to Ravi, was conceived as a small-budget venture that Guruprasad said he could pull off if they crowd-funded the budget. By the time Ramesh joined the team, about 70% of the shooting had been completed and his investment went towards finishing the film.
Eddelu Manjunatha 2 also stars Rachitha Mahalakshmi, Vageesh Katti, Sharath Lohithashwa and Chaithra J Achar. Th film was supposed to be in theatres on February 21, but will now release at a later date.
