Eddie Murphy is returning in Netflix's Beverly Hills Cop - Axel F on THIS date

Netflix has decided to offer a special summer treat for Eddie Murphy fans by releasing the fourth edition of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise. Directed by Mark Molloy, the film will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and will see several original cast members returning to reprise their roles, along with some fresh faces. Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F releases on OTT this summer.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F will stream on Netflix on July 3, 2024, almost a full two decades after the original film hit theatres. The film released a teaser trailer that has offered plenty of Axel F vibes and a new set of threats and missions. However, nothing can deter Axel F, as with time, both he and Eddie Murphy have matured like fine wine and a good insurance plan.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F will see the old detective back in town, as humorous and versatile as ever. But when his daughter Jane’s life is threatened, she and her dad must team up with their old pals Billy Rosewood and Taggart, as well as a new partner, to unveil the conspiracy and turn the heat up on the criminals.

The teaser shows Axel F back to his antics, breaking out of prison twice already, despite being a detective himself back in the day. As for his fighting and gun skills, they are madder than ever, taking the mickey out of his villains before they ever stood a chance after underestimating him. Still wonderstruck by the sights that sashay down Rodeo Drive, the film promises the same old fun represented in a modern, refreshing manner.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F will see Eddie Murphy, Judge Reinhold, Bronson Pinchot, and Paul Reiser reprise their roles of Axel Foley, Billy Rosewood, Jeffrey Friedman, and Serge, respectively, while John Ashton returns as well. Among the fresh partners, Taylour Paige joins as Axel’s daughter Jane, Joseph Gordon-Levitt enters as Detective Abbott, and Kevin Bacon will play Captain Cade Grant.
