Legendary filmmaker actor Raj Kapoor once said that he treats his films like his own children. ‘Just because they haven’t performed well, I don’t distance myself from it, I in fact tend to love them even more,’ he shared in a documentary that Simi Garewal had filmed many moons ago. While the legend may not be around here anymore, his words strike a chord today as well.

Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi is that special child for a Telugu director. If it was the national-award-winning Pelli Choopulu that signalled the arrival of a promising filmmaker in the form of Tharun Bhascker, the latter’s second film Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi truly proved that he was no fluke. While the film received favourable reviews and responses upon release in 2018, it didn’t translate into commercial revenue. Suresh Productions bankrolled the dramedy.

Vishwak Sen, Abhinav Gomatam, Sushanth Reddy, Venkatesh Kakumanu starred in the Dil Chahta Hai-meets-Hangover styled comedy that gained cult status upon its release on OTT. As the film is set to celebrate its fifth release anniversary, the team has come up with a special gift for movie buffs. Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi is set to hit screens again this June 29, the team has confirmed.

That’s not all, the teaser of director Tharun Bhascker’s next film, Keedaa Cola, will be played in all theatres screening Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi. Anisha Ambrose, Simran Choudhary, and Galusheya Daria played other key roles in the film which also had special appearances by noted filmmaker Gautham Menon, Vijay Deverakonda. Vivek Sagar scored the music for the film which had cinematography by Niketh Bommi and was edited by Ravi Teja Girijala.

Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi is currently streaming on two OTT platforms - Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. The film revolves around four friends who land up in Goa under unexpected circumstances and rekindle their love for filmmaking.
