Chandan Roy Sanyal has opened up about the character arc of Bhopa Swami in Ek Badnaam Aasham 3 Part 2. The show is streaming on Amazon MX Player.

Chandan Roy Sanyal has been associated with the Aashram franchise since its inception. The Prakash Jha web show features Chandan as Bhopa Swami. The actor reprised his character in Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 Part 2, which released on Amazon MX Player. Dys after the show's release, Chandan has spoken about his character's journey across the seasons. The actor also highlighted that Bhopa Swami is 'ready to claim his destiny' in the new season.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Chandan Roy Sanyal revealed that his character Bhopa has been the silent force behind Bobby Deol's Baba Nirala. However, things have changed in the latest installment of Aashram, which is Ek Badnaam Aashram 3 Part 2.
"But this time, the tides have shifted as he’s had enough. As Baba Nirala begins to disregard his counsel, Bhopa finds himself questioning his place in the Aashram. For the first time, Bhopa feels overlooked, his influence waning. That moment of realization sparks a quiet but resolute rebellion within him," said Chandan.
The actor added that Bhopa Swami now believes that he is not only powerful but also deserving of the throne. "This season marks Bhopa Swami’s rise from the shadows— ready to claim his destiny," he shared. In this part, Chandan stars alongside Bobby, Aaditi Pohankar, Darshan Kumar, Anupriya Goenka, Rajeev Siddhartha and Esha Gupta.
On the work front, Chandan Roy Sanyal has been a part of several projects in the OTT space. Apart from Aashram, the actor has done web projects like Forbidden Love, Ray, Shehar Lakhot, Lootere and Charlie Chopra.
Before Ek Badnaam Aashram 3 Part 2 was released, Sanyal was seen in 36 Days, a web show which premiered on SonyLIV and OTTplay Premium. Directed by Vishal Furia, the series is an Indian adaptation of the British show 35 Days. The show was released on July 12, 2024.
