Ek Thi Begum 2: Anuja Sathe and Shahab Ali's crime-thriller series crosses 300mn streams

Ek Thi Begum 2 grabbed the attention soon after the release of its teaser. The crime-thriller show revolves around Ashraf Bhatkar, who becomes a femme fatale for many gang leaders in India and abroad after her husband’s demise and came back with another identity after recovering from a brutal murder attempt to complete her revenge. The Anuja Sathe show has again become the talk of the tinsel town after winning the hearts of millions of people across the country and crossing 300mn streams in just five days post its release.

Talking about the response by the viewers, the protagonist of the show, Anuja said in a statement that she is overwhelmed by the response Ek Thi Begum 2 has received and also mentioned that her character, Ashraf is not a quintessential hero but she has been transformed from an ordinary housewife into a mafia queen. “This series goes to show that it isn’t star power but gripping narratives and content that pulls in audiences,” she added.

Meanwhile, the Chief Content Officer at MX Player, Gautam Talwar also mentioned his views about the same and said in a statement it’s delightful to see a bilingual show becoming the most-watched series on their OTT platform. “The journey of this gutsy and beautiful woman makes for an inspiring character and S2 sees her not only enter the world of crime but dominate this masculine world with a sharp intelligence that has really struck a chord with viewers,” he further added.

The MX original show, which has been inspired by true events, bagged an 8.8 Rating on IMDB. Ek Thi Begum 2 also features Rajendra Shisatkar, Ankit Mohan, Vivek Aapte, Raju Aathavle, Vaibhav Ambekar, Hitesh Bojraj, Shahab Ali and Sauraseni Maitra among others.
