Ek Villain Returns’ Box Office run is coming to an end. The movie, which started off at a high Rs. 30 crores in the first week, fell week after week but never reached the same mark or crossed it, like a few films of the recent times. Now, it appears that the movie, featuring John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria in the lead roles, is likely to collect only Rs. 40 crores as its lifetime collection.
The movie is among the last films who came close to becoming a hit at the Box Office. Every Hindi movie that released since Ek Villain Returns – Laal Singh Chaddha, Raksha Bandhan and Liger – have been a dud at the Box Office.
Ek Villain Returns needed to mint Rs. 50 crores at the Box Office to be declared a hit. In the current state, the movie will barely touch Rs. 40 crores in its lifetime collection, according to a report on Box Office India.
Here’s the movie’s week-wise collection:
Week One – Rs. 30,32,00,000
Week Two – Rs. 8,02,00,000
Week Three – Rs. 86,00,000
Week Four – Rs. 38,00,000
Week Five (likely to collect) – Rs. 10,00,000
Total - 39,68,00,000
Ek Villain Returns has performed well even outside of India. It has performed as well as Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in the UK. The Mohit Suri-directorial film worked well in the Gulf too.
The movie has earned Rs. 67 crores worldwide gross. Ek Villain Returns, produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms, is the sequel to the 2014 film, which featured Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles.
