Ek Villain Returns continues the saga of love and the vengeance left off by Ek Villain. The upcoming film, a spiritual successor to the 2014 movie, will see Arjun Kapoor and John Abraham go head to head, as the trailer seems to suggest. The makers unveiled the highly awaited trailer of the film recently and fans seemed to have embraced the action and thrill with open arms. Fans in particular raved about Arjun’s fierce look. Several Bollywood celebrities too voiced their full support of the film’s trailer via their social media.

Kapoor’s sister Janhvi Kapoor expressed her excitement at her brother’s upcoming film. Sharing the trailer, the actress wrote “This looks crazy!!!!! Can’t wait”. Arjun had made his on screen debut in Ishaqzaade. His co-star in the 2012 film Parineeti Chopra displayed the delightful rapport they shared together while wishing Arjun on his new film. Sharing the film’s trailer, Parineeti wrote “But I know you’re the villain since 2012! All the besttt my baba”. The two had also starred together in Namaste England(2018) and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar(2021).

Arjun’s co-star in Mubarakan(2017), Athiya Shetty also shared her excitement for Ek Villain Returns and how much she was looking forward to the film. Alia Bhatt, whom Arjun shared the screen with in 2 States(2014), also shared the trailer and dubbed it ‘fab’.

Anushka Sharma spoke of how she was looking forward to seeing Arjun’s ‘villainous avatar’ in the film. Arjun’s partner Malaika Arora also shared the trailer to show her support.

Ek Villain Returns will be released on the big screen on July 29, 2022.
