Ekka on OTT: Streamer confirms Yuva Rajkumar’s much-awaited film's premiere date

Four months since its theatrical outing, Ekka is finally OTT bound. Not long ago, it was finally confirmed that the film had found a streaming partner, and it was not what had been speculated in this time. Sun Network holds the digital and satellite rights of the film and the streamer was meant to have it out on Sun NXT (via OTTplay Premium also), as of November 7, but then there was a change of schedule to accommodate another Kannada film in that slot and Ekka got postponed, albeit by a few days only.

Ekka's new OTT release date

Sun NXT has announced that Ekka will begin streaming on the platform from November 13, 2025, while Priyanka Upendra’s horror film Kamaro 2 gets the November 7 slot. Both films can be accessed via OTTplay Premium as well. Ekka, directed by Rohit Padaki, is Yuva Rajkumar’s sophomore film that released amid much fanfare on July 18. While it had a good opening, it did not sustain at the box office thereafter, and, according to trade trackers, did not recover its budget. The film had hit theatres with much anticipation that it would break the drought the industry faced at the time, and while it had some impact, the real game-changer was the horror comedy Su From So later in July.

Yuva was joined by the likes of Poorna Mysore, Adityaa, Atul Kulkarni, Shruthi Krishna, Arun Sagar, Rahul Dev Shetty, Sadhu Kokila, Sampada Hulivana, Sanjana Anand, Puneeth Rudranag, Dr Suri, among others on the cast. Music was by Charan Raj, with the track Bangle Bangari becoming a runaway hit.

In Ekka, Yuva played Mutthu, a simpleton from a village, who is forced to move to Bengaluru and work, after he pledges his house with a local moneylender to help out a friend, who then absconds without repaying the money. In search of this friend who betrayed him and in trying to get the money that he needs to recover his assets, Mutthu ends up in the company of a local gangster and soon enough begins working with him, which comes with consequences – including eroding the innocence he once held on to fiercely.
