Ekka teaser: Fans in love with Jr Power Star Yuva Rajkumar’s Jackie vibe

Yuva Rajkumar’s sophomore project, Ekka, is widely seen as the film that will give his fledgling career a boost in the right direction, after his debut, Yuva, failed to soar. Directed by Rohit Padaki of Rathnan Prapancha fame, and produced by PRK Productions and KRG Studios, Ekka is one of the most widely anticipated Kannada films of the year. Set for release on June 6, 2025, filming has nearly been completed.
The makers were looking at making a big splash on Yuva’s birthday on April 23 by revealing a teaser, but following the brutal terror attack in Kashmir, they decided to postpone it by a day out of respect for those who lost their lives. The teaser that came out on April 24, which is just as big a day for the Rajkumar family, considering that it is the late Dr Rajkumar’s birth anniversary, is all of 30 seconds, but packed in enough for fans to go ga-ga over the visuals.

Yuva’s look in the teaser, including the costume, face paint, goggles and whistle are all reminiscent of the late Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar in his hit film Jackie. Yuva is being propped up as the one to take up the Power Star mantle, and fans are loving this tribute. The teaser, of course, has got expectations to sky-rocket, with netizens now eager to see what Rohit “has cooked”.
“Crazy teaser”, “Psych BGM”, “reminds of Jackie fight scene”, “great Jackie tribute”, were among the most commonly seen comments for the teaser, with netizens also hailing the actor as Jr Power Star. Ekka, which is said to be one man’s journey as he gets entangled in the dark underbelly of Bengaluru, has Sampada Hulivana as the actor’s pair, while Sanjana Anand will also be seen in a pivotal role.
Yuva Rajkumar, the younger son of Raghavendra Rajkumar, made his debut with Yuva, directed by Santhosh Ananddram and produced by Hombale Films. While the film was a perfect showreel for the young actor to show off his skill sets, especially in the dance and fight departments, it lacked a solid story and narrative.
