Ekka trailer reactions: Netizens love the crisp and clear narrative; all praise for Yuva’s improvement

Ekka, Yuva Rajkumar’s sophomore film, will be in theatres in only a week. A trailer of the Rohit Padaki directorial was revealed on July 11 and netizens have taken quite a liking to what they’ve been privy too. The trailer has Yuva narrating his character Muthu’s life, from a simple existence back in his village, to getting caught up in Bengaluru’s underworld; it’s a massive shift for the young man. This is what the team has said the film is about and they’ve stuck to the narrative, which, audiences have been highly appreciative of.

Rohit’s trailer cut, Charanraj’s music and, of course, Yuva’s much improved performance, compared to his debut movie, are the major highlights that are being discussed. “#EKKA The trailer seems intriguing and Yuva has improved significantly”, “#Ekka trailer cut is the best in recent times. Has Suri cinema vibes throughout the trailer”, “Ekka trailer seems decent. Has a lot of jackie in it”, “Trailer looks unique and interesting”, “Complete mass entertainer”, were among some of the commonly seen comments.

While netizens were impressed by the stylish visuals, some expressed fear that the team may have opted for style over substance, given that the plot felt familiar, while others thought that too much of the story had been revealed. However, by and large, most felt that Rohit has done a decent job in not over-hyping Yuva with elevation shots.

Ekka releases in theatres on July 18. The film also stars Shruthi Krishna, Sanjana Anand, Sampada Hulivana, Atul Kulkarni, Adityaa and Poorna Mysore, among others, with Charanraj filling in as composer. The film will clash with Kireeti Reddy’s Junior, the trailer of which also came out on July 11 and has been warmly received.

Following the trailer release, Yuva fans have been urging the producers to begin its theatrical run with early morning shows. It is expected to be the film that ends Sandalwood’s current dull phase.
