Eko actor compares Sandeep Pradeep-starrer to Mohanlal's Thudarum: 'It will haunt you like...'

Young Malayalam actor Sandeep Pradeep leads the upcoming film, titled Eko, which brings back the formidable director-writer Dinjith Ayyathan and Bahul Ramesh of Kishkindha Kaandam. The moody teaser and posters released thus far have teased the arrival of yet another unsettling film. Eko would haunt viewers like another recent Mohanlal film Thudarum, opines senior actor Vineeth, who appears in a key role in Dinjith Ayyathan's directorial.

'Eko will be haunting like Thudarum'

The Malayalam film Eko, starring Sandeep Pradeep, Vineeth, Narain and Binu Pappu, is set to release in theatres on November 21. The film promises a tense tale, set in the hilly areas, revolving around a youth. During a recent chat with MediaOne, Vineeth said that Eko will have moments that will haunt you, similar to Mohanlal’s film Thudarum.

“After watching Thudarum, Lalettan's character was just floating in me. Of course, there is his performance. Like that, this will just haunt you. Some films are like that, when you watch it, it will just remain with you. That would be the impact. So this will also have moments like that," Vineeth said.

Vineeth, also a renowned dancer, started his career in Malayalam films during the 1980s and has acted in several films with Mohanlal.

Thudarum is Mohanlal’s third release of the year 2025. Helmed by Tharun Moorthy, Thudarum begins as a family drama but slowly turns into a thriller after Shanmugham (Mohanlal)’s stepson is killed and he is framed for it. The second half of the film, with its twists and tense moments, leaves an impact on the viewers.

A mystery in a windy upland is the premise of Eko, which has a strong link to dogs. A youth, a police investigation and a set of mysterious characters were revealed in the Eko teaser which raised several questions and hardly any answers. Expectations are high from Eko as the team’s previous film Kishkindha Kaandam was a slow-burn thriller, which impressed viewers.
