Ekta Kapoor teases Puncch Beat S2

Ekta Kapoor has rejuvenated the Puncch Beat fanbase with a single Instagram post. The showrunner shared the teaser of the youth-based show’s second season on her Instagram page. Set in the fictional institute of Rosewood High, the first season of Puncch Beat explored love, rivalry and uncertain futures for its characters. The second season will premiere on AltBalaji and MX Player on June 27.

Bringing fans respite in the midst of a pandemic, the ace producer captioned her Instagram post writing, “Drama, Relationship Goals, New Friendships, More Rivalries, And a rush of adrenaline awaits you at Rosewood High with a dark twist. Be prepared to remain on the edge of your seats. #PuncchBeat season 2 trailer on 11th June, show streaming 27th June on #AltBalaji (sic).”

This romantic drama series revolves around the lives of students of Rosewood High which is right in the middle of lush mountains in Dehradun. Vikas Gupta, the creator of the first season, will no longer be joining the crew for the second instalment.

The teaser of the second season gives a glimpse into Samyuktha Hegde’s character, who is a new addition to the cast. Her role is expected to be charged and powerful. The teaser starts with Divyanka and Rahat’s love story before highlighting the tension between the two and Padmini. It is also revealed that an investigation is going to begin at Rosewood High which will try to unravel the events of the fresher party. This has led fans to believe that the second season is going to be a murder mystery.

Puncch Beat season 2 will feature Priyank Sharma as Rahat, Harshita Gaur as Divyanka, Siddharth Sharma as Ranbir Chowdhary and Khushi Joshi as Padmini. The series will also star Niki Walia, Samir Soni, Kajol Tyagi, Nikhil Bhambri, Sinduja Turlapati among others. The shooting for the series commenced in January and was wrapped in February this year.

The trailer for Puncch Beat season 2 is scheduled to release on June 11. The show is slated to air on AltBalaji and MX Player on June 27.
