Durga Puja is almost here. On Saturday, with Mahalaya, Debi Paksha – a period of Ma Durga – began. In another five days, the festival will start with full gusto. Durga Puja is not limited to Bengalis only and is celebrated all over India. Bengalis see Durga as the mother. After Mahalaya, many other communities from India celebrate Navratri and Dussehra. Filmmaker Kamaleswar Mukherjee reminded us of that fact by sharing the teaser poster of his upcoming film Ektu Sore Bosun.

The poster shows lots of people. They are of different ages and ethnicities. There seems to be a competition of how many people can sit on a bench. Everyone tries to sit there by elbowing out the others. Some people are successful and some are not. Man gets into the competition right after birth. It goes on till their last day. Sometimes the competition is fair. At other times, it is a David-vs-Goliath battle. People often lose trust in each other to remain in the competition. Kamaleswar told Aajkaal Dot In, “My film will give the message to not lose faith in man. We must keep our faith intact, no matter the ups and downs in life.”

The film is based on Bonoful aka Balaichand Mukhopadhya’s short story. It will be released in mid-November. Ritwik Chakraborty, Paoli Dam, Ishaa Saha, and Payel Sarkar play the protagonists. Manasi Sinha, Paran Bandyopadhyay, and Rajatava Dutta are in the supporting roles. The film will show the problem of unemployment covered in comedy. GP Entertainment and Asit Ghosh, Anindya Dasgupta, and Srijit Mukherjee, on behalf of Dark Energy, produced the film. -
