Disney and Pixar's Elemental, which hit the big screen in June this year, is set for its OTT premiere. The computer-animated romantic comedy-drama film is set to drop on Disney+ Hotstar on September 13, 2023. Along with English, the film will also stream in Hindi on the OTT platform. Elemental takes audiences to a fantastical metropolis known as Element City, where a wide variety of elements reside and do their daily business.
About Elemental:
The film highlights the differences between the four elements, air, earth, water, and fire, from Ember's point of view, a quick-witted and fiery woman who has never ventured far from her hometown of Firetown. She leaves her comfort zone for the first time in Elemental, a picture that was made with the big screen in mind but was formed in the minds of Pixar's creative minds. Large urban centres served as inspiration for Element City, which welcomes theorised contributions from each elemental group, such as a tornado-shaped arena named Cyclone Stadium and towers designed like gigantic pine trees and waterfalls.
In the movie, Ember Lumen, a fire element, and Wade Ripple, a water element, fall in love in a world where the natural elements have evolved into people. They first met at the convenience store that Ember's father, Bernie, owns.
Voice cast:
Wendi McLendon-Covey voices Wade's stormy and Air-Ball-loving boss, Gale; Catherine O'Hara voices Wade's welcoming mom, Brook; Mason Wertheimer voices Ember's admiring earth neighbour, Clod; and Joe Pera voices an overgrown city bureaucrat, Fern. They join Leah Lewis and Mamoudou Athie, who were previously announced as Ember and Wade, respectively.
Behind the scenes:
John Hoberg, Kat Likkel, and Brenda Hsueh wrote the script for Elemental, which Peter Sohn directed. Hoberg, Likkel, and Hsueh also contributed to the film's story. Denise Ream, p.g.a., and Pete Docter worked together to produce Elemental.
Thomas Newman wrote and led the orchestra that played the film's original score.
