The future looks a lot brighter than it did a month ago for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which has been resurrected back to glory by Deadpool & Wolverine, released exactly a month ago. While we now live with the hangover of that buddy superhero movie and eagerly anticipate Agatha All Along, the world of witches is growing exponentially in the MCU. Agatha All Along is part of a trilogy that began with WandaVision, continues with the Kathryn Hahn-led show, and will conclude with the Vision TV series. Now, the latter is making headlines, as it’s being reported that Elizabeth Olsen is all set to reprise her role in it. We were just as surprised as you are to hear this.
The Vision series, which was previously titled Vision Quest according to reports, will continue the story of the android. The story is said to pick up after Vision was resurrected by S.W.O.R.D., though without his emotions. However, it appears that Hex Vision restored his doppelganger's memories. This sets the stage for our Avengers to return and create a new android family, much like the one they made in the first show. The show could be based on Tom King’s widely popular Vision comics.
Remember Ultron, whom we first encountered in Avengers: Age of Ultron? It was also the movie where we first met Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff, alongside her brother Quicksilver. Well, Ultron is returning to the MCU and is set to cross paths with Vision, his old enemy. When you think about it, Vision and Ultron's origins aren’t too different, but them crossing paths again adds an interesting twist to the story. Additionally, James Spader is returning to play the part, according to Deadline.
Now, this is big news. We saw that Wanda, aka Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, appears to be dead in the trailer for Agatha All Along. However, it seems like there’s more to the story than meets the eye. According to a new report from Deadline, Scarlet Witch is returning for the Vision TV series to join her love. "While the focus is on Vision, we also heard there is a possibility for Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) to appear, which would make sense given how interconnected the two characters' stories are in the MCU,” the report says.
Meanwhile, a Hollywood Reporter article has also confirmed that the Vision TV show will be the final part of the trilogy that started with WandaVision and will continue with Agatha All Along. "The third part of a trilogy that started with WandaVision and continues in Agatha All Along." This means the connection between the three is stronger than we initially thought, and the events of Agatha All Along will impact the Vision TV series as well.
Marvel bosses are also smart enough to resurrect Scarlet Witch and Vision just in time before they begin work on Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
