Kannada filmmaker D Satya Prakash, who has made films like Rama Rama Re, Ondalla Eradalla and Man of the Match, is ready with his next, X&Y, which he has produced and acted in as well. The film, which also stars Atharva Prakash and Brinda Acharya (Kousalya Supraja Rama), among others, is set for theatrical release on June 26. A few days ago, Satya had dropped a teaser of the film and then spoken to OTTplay about the basic premise, which he has now followed up with the first song, Ello Idda Hanigalu.

The big reveal in Ello Idda Hanigalu is...

Satya had told us that the film explores the emotions of an unborn soul, with Atharva’s character a dead man who comes back to life, when the soul of a person that’s yet to be born makes him its host. With Ello Idda Hanigalu, which features Satya, Atharva, Brinda and Ayaana, the filmmaker-actor has dropped a major plot point – the unborn soul that’s paying him a visit is that of his ‘future child’.

This ties in with Satya’s earlier explanation about how human beings often talk a lot about leaving a brighter and better tomorrow for the next generation, but end up doing precious little about it. He had wondered what that generation would make of our actions and inactions today, which he has tried to represent in Atharva’s character – a wide-eyed person, who is taking in every sight and sound around him.

Written by K Kalyan and set to tune by Kaushik Harsha, with Advait Pattanaik’s voice, Ello Idda Hanigalu was shot in and around the coastal belt of Mangaluru. In the film, Satya plays an auto-rickshaw driver, whose humble mode of transportation serves as a makeshift ambulance. Atharva’s character, as per the teaser, is a man who, presumably, dies in Satya’s auto, as the latter is seen doing CPR on him before he springs back to life in a twist of fate.
