Hoping to reconnect over Christmas, they travel to a remote island in the Danish archipelago, only to learn to their horror that the land is controlled by members of a strongly religious community living in balance with fierce creatures in the woods. These creatures are revealed to be… elves, real monstrous beings that inspired the folklore and myths that we all know. When the girl in the family brings home a baby elf, she inadvertently disrupts the balance and puts everyones' lives in danger.

The series is will have six episodes and is set in Denmark. It is created and written by Stefan Jaworski. It is from the creators of The Rain. Jannik Tai Mosholt and Christian Potalivo serve as executive producers with Peter Bose and Jonas Allen from Miso Film. In an earlier statement to the press, Tesha Crawford, Director Netflix International Originals Northern Europe, had said, "Tapping into the local myths that have always such great resonance in the Nordic region and being able to transform this into a modern-day Christmas story- with a little touch of horror.”
