The finale of Game of Thrones had gutted even the most loyal fans of the HBO series. Now, its lead actress Emilia Clarke revealed how she struggled to accept Daenerys Targaryen’s death in the last episode of the popular series, which concluded two years ago.
Talking about how she felt while filming the finale, Emilia told MTV, “I get why people are pissed. I totally get it. But, me being the actor, you can’t do justice to the character that you poured your blood, sweat and tears into for a decade without getting on the same page. So like, I’m not just going to be there being like, ‘Fine, I’ll do the scene, whatever. I’m so pissed.’ You have to turn up.”
Talking about the highly-anticipated prequel series House of the Dragon, the Game of Thrones had earlier told The Hollywood Reporter, “Those pictures came out and I was like, ‘Whoa! Whoa!’, I was on my own last time. I didn’t know I had pals. I could’ve had a bunch of friends to hang out with, but yes, it’s mildly surreal to be seeing all of that again. But good luck to them is what I would say. I really mean that.”
Emilia has recently been roped in for Marvel Studios’ upcoming series - Secret Invasion. The show is reportedly set after the events of Captain Marvel and Spider-Man: Far From Home. Clarke will join an already stellar cast featuring Samuel L Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Kingsley Ben-Adir and Olivia Colman. Secret Invasion’s first season is expected to premiere in 2022 on Disney+ Hotstar.
