Marvel Studios is expanding the franchise like never before, with a long line-up of upcoming shows and movies. One of the highly anticipated ones that teased its storyline in Spiderman: Far from Home, is the Disney+ series Secret Invasion. Now, in a piece of good news, Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke has confirmed that she will be seen in the Samuel L. Jackson-led series.

She was making an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote her new comic series, M.O.M.: Mother of Madness. But, in a delightful turn of events, the Emmy-nominated star formally confirmed her role in the upcoming Disney+ Secret Invasion series.

Based on the 2008 crossover series published by Marvel Comics, nothing much is still known about the series. The secrecy policy of Marvel prevented Clarke from divulging any further details about her character or the show’s plot, or even anything, other than the show’s title. She stressed how rigorously Marvel maintains the secrets and conveyed that she had been schooled to not let anything out, with the first people she spoke with, from the studios being the security team.

Referring to Marvel Studios as the Apple of the entertainment industry, Clarke expressed her excitement to be a part of something so cool, and how the admiration she has for the creators made her say yes to the project. "I just think that everyone's heart and heads are in the right place with this one,” she added.

Although not much is still known, the basic storyline suggests that Secret Invasion will follow the Skrulls, a group of shape-shifting aliens who have been infiltrating various aspects of planet Earth for years, by secretly transforming themselves into human look-alikes. The original comic featured cameos and crossovers from The Avengers, Young Avengers, The Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts, so we can expect some surprises coming our way in the upcoming Disney+ series.

Clarke has been added to a stellar cast of renowned actors. Samuel L Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn, will be reprising their characters of Nick Fury and Talos, along with the new faces of Kingsley Ben-Adir, Killian Scott, Olivia Colman, Carmen Ejogo and Christopher McDonald.
