COVID-19 may still be having a strong hold on the rest of the world, but even a ravaging pandemic cannot take a hold of the haute and amour of Emily Emily Cooper’s Paris. Emily in Paris star Lily Collins recently revealed why the Netflix series chose to exclude the current reigning pandemic in its premise.
In conversation with Variety, Collins revealed that the main reason the makers took the decision was so that the series could continue to offer a sort of ‘escapism’ to viewers, similar to its first season. The actress talked about how the show’s makers had recognised how the show had been a welcome escape for people who were forced to wait out the ravages of the pandemic. They had wanted to carry on giving people the same kind of feeling on the latest season of the show as well.
But filming amidst a pandemic was not without its challenges, said the actress. She talked about how difficult it was shooting scenes in the densely populated city where almost every person had masks on. She recalled how there had been many instances when the cameras had started rolling and people in the shot were still wearing masks.
Collins also teased that the latest season would certainly outdo its predecessor when it came to the glamour and fashion of its wardrobe.
The second season of Emily in Paris will premiere on Netflix on December 22. The first season is available to stream on the platform.
