A day after Mohanlal’s Empuraan made a splendid start at the box office, netizens are engaged in heated debates over various aspects connected with the Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial.  However, in a star-studded film led by Mohanlal with the likes of Prithviraj, Tovino Thomas and even global stars among its cast, it is Manju Warrier who seems to have been able to stand out with her ‘terrific’ performance. Manju Warrier wins applause for L2 Empuraan

Manju Warrier returned as Priyadarshini Ramdas in the second installment in the Lucifer trilogy that hit theatres on Thursday. Despite the hype and anticipation, the film opened to mixed reviews with the Empuraan plot coming under scanner. Among the performances, Mohanlal was hailed as solid as always, but Manju Warrier too seems to have left a mark.

Sharing a photo of Priyadarshini Ramdas, another netizen wrote, “Finally, I see glimpses of the vintage Manju Warrier! Easily her second-best performance since her comeback.”

For the unversed, Manj Warrier created quite an impression during the late 1990s and early 2000s before quitting films. She returned to Malayalam cinema last decade and her career since has seen a mixed bag of highs and lows.

Manju played the role of Priyadarshini, the daughter of CM PK Ramdas, whose death sparks a power struggle in the state that was depicted in the first part, Lucifer. Empuraan picks up from where Lucifer ended, expanding the universe with more characters and plot twists. Manju has more screen time with Priyadarshini getting a better character arc in the sequel.
