Empuraan trailer: Rajinikanth's first reaction 'means the world' to fanboy Prithviraj Sukumaran

With less than 10 days left for the L2 Empuraan release, fans are eagerly awaiting Prithviraj Sukumaran to unveil the much-anticipated trailer of the Mohanlal-starrer. Though the trailer was rumoured to release on March 17, it did not happen so. In the latest exciting update, Prithviraj Sukumaran has revealed that none other than Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth is the first person to watch the Empruaan trailer. Read on

Empuraan director Prithviraj Sukumaran took to social media handles on March 18 to announce that Rajinikanth has already watched the trailer of the Mohanlal-starrer. Posting a picture of himself with the Tamil superstar, Prithviraj wrote on social media, “The very first person to watch the trailer of #L2E #EMPURAAN I will forever cherish what you said after watching it Sir! This meant the world to me! Fanboy forever!”

Fans of both Malayalam and Tamil cinema were excited to see Prithviraj’s post that said Rajinikanth was the first person to see the trailer of Empuraan. Many netizens dropped fire emojis in the comment section and conveyed their best wishes to the L2E team. One fan referred to the duo as ‘Superstar with Prince of Mollywood’. Some fans also urged the popular actor who turned filmmaker with the 2019 hit Lucifer to direct a film with Rajinikanth. For the unversed, Prithviraj had earlier said that he had turned down an opportunity to direct Rajinikanth. Prithviraj said that he was offered to do a film for Lyca Productions starring Rajinikanth but he couldn’t come up with a subject for Rajini sir.

Meanwhile, Prithviraj has already said that he will be making a big announcement at 6pm on March 18. Though he did not give any hints about what this release will be, fans are speculating that it will be an update about the trailer release.

For the unversed, Empuraan is the second installment in the Lucifer trilogy. The first part Lucifer is available on SonyLiv and OTTplay Premium. While Mohanlal stars in the lead role in both films, Prithviraj has directed both installments with Murali Gopy on board as the writer.
