Actor Emraan Hashmi takes a moment to cherish, as the 2006 romantic thriller film Gangster: A Love Story, in which he shared screen space with Kangana Ranaut and Shiney Ahuja turns 17. Directed by Anurag Basu, it was one of the most successful films of that year.

Speaking about the film, Emraan said, “Gangster is a very special film for me. At that time, I didn’t know that the impact it would create would be so big. A big thank you to the audience and my team for making it a classic in Bollywood. This is a film that is very close to my heart and will always be my favourite too.”

The movie was not only well received by the audience for the story and the actors’ performances, but also for its music which was composed by Pritam.

Produced by Mahesh Bhatt, Gangster won multiple awards. It was the third collaboration between Anurag and Emraan. Earlier, they had worked together in two successful films - Murder and Tumsa Nahin Dekha.

Later, Emraan delivered some of his finest performances in films like Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, Murder 2, The Dirty Picture, Jannat 2 and Shanghai, among others. His latest film Selfiee, in which he acted alongside Akshay Kumar, was a remake of the Malayalam film Driving License. Emraan will be seen in the upcoming projects - Tiger 3 and Jannat 3.
