Luka Chuppi director Bash Mohammed’s latest movie Ennalum Ente Aliya, which hit theatres in January, has begun streaming on an OTT platform. The family entertainer, which is entirely set in Dubai, has Suraj Venjaramoodu, Siddique, Gayathri Arun and Lena in lead roles.

The film revolves around the series of incidents that spurt from a misunderstanding between two families based in Dubai. After Lakshmi’s (Gayathri Arun) brother Vivek arrives uninvited into her husband Balakrishnan’s (Suraj Venjaramoodu) life, things began to turn upside down. In the same apartment complex, Zulfi, a helicopter parent, starts getting anxiety attacks every time her daughter Ismi is on the phone. After Ismi’s friend elopes with another man, Zulfi finally decides to confront Vivek, who she believes is the one calling her daughter. This puts the two families at loggerheads.

The movie, shot during the pandemic, also has Meera Nanda in a pivotal role. In an earlier interview with us, Bash had said that the film revolves around a series of events that happen in the daily lives of people at their homes. “So, a lot of people should be able to relate to it easily. The film revolves around a small incident that just blows out of proportion,” he said.

Through humour, the movie looks at several serious subjects including helicopter parenting, hypocrisy and discrimination. The film is co-scripted by Sreekumar Araykkal and Bash Mohammed. Ennalum Ente Aliya is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

The film also has Siddique in a comedy role after quite some time. He plays Zulfi’s docile husband in the movie. “Right now, I can’t think of any other artistes who could have performed these roles better. I am not saying this to praise my actors, but it’s something that everyone in our team felt,” Bash told us earlier, on casting Suraj, Lena, Siddique and Gayathri for the movie.
