After screening at multiple film festivals, the state award-winning film Ennivar is now available on OTT. The movie, directed by Sidhartha Shiva, follows the journey of four students who are forced to run for their lives after a political dispute turns dangerous. Sarjano Khalid, known for his work in films like June and Big Brother, plays the lead role. Ennivar which received several prominent awards at the Kerala State Awards 2021, including the Best Director, is available to stream on Saina Play.
What is Ennivar about?
Ennivar tells the story of a group of college students who find themselves caught up in a political conflict on campus. Fearing for their safety, they seek refuge in a remote house and are aided by some seasoned leaders in their party. The film explores the relationships and conflicts that arise among the group as they spend time together in exile. The plot bears a resemblance to Nayattu, where the system pursues police officers, as Ennivar also features characters being chased by those in power.
The cast and crew of Ennivar
Along with Sarjano, composer Sooraj S Kurup, Sudheesh, Binu Pappu, and director Jeo Baby play important roles in the film. Sudheesh won the 2021 State Award for Best Character Actor for his performance in Ennivar.
In a recent interview with OTTplay, Sarjano revealed that filming for the movie took place during the pandemic. He noted that his character in the film is different from his usual 'chocolate boy' roles. The actor shared that Ennivar was originally intended for film festivals, but positive feedback from viewers suggested that it could also be successful as a commercial film.
