The terrorists attack on 26/11 across Mumbai's landmarks has scarred us forever. Honouring the martyrs, EORTV has launched a short film Sadhrakshanay, featuring versatile actors from the Hindi and Marathi film industries. Produced by Dreamzz Images, the film is based on the attacks and the story of how Mumbai brave hearts fought till they triumphed against the terrorists.
The Marathi short features Abhijeet Khandekar, Piyush Ranade and Raqesh Bapat. This is the second original feature of the EORTV. Raqesh plays the role of an honest and sincere police officer whose motto in life is to protect the weak and fight against evil until his last breath. Piyush too plays the role of a brave police inspector who is smart, intelligent, honest and a fighter.
A group of terrorists sneaked into Mumbai via sea route and targeted the iconic and historic places of Mumbai like the Taj Mahal hotel and nearby surrounding landmarks like CST station and Cama Hospital. The horrifying events that followed came to be known as India's 26/11 and one of the most heart wrenching terrorist attacks in the history of the world.
Speaking about the short, Piyush Ranade said in a statement that the film is close to his heart and how as a Mumbaikar, he has not forgotten the dark day. Expressing his gratitude to cops and caregivers at various hospitals in the city, he added, "We can never be done speaking about the incident and revisiting it. This role required a lot of study, research and self-discipline. I blindly followed Deepak ji’s lead." He further urged the audience to watch the film and share their feedback.
This is the second project of Deepak Pandey for the OTT platform. The director, Sadrakshanay, appreciated the cast and crew. "It is a sensitive topic and setting the right tone was very important for us. It is our tribute to the martyrs, men in uniform and plain-clothed citizens alike. I don’t think the loss can ever be recovered, we can only remember their sacrifice and express our gratitude," he said in a statement.
