Jaaved Jaaferi is heaping all praises for his recent web series, Escaype Live. Written and directed by Siddharth Kumar Tewary, the show released today on Disney+ Hotstar. The show has been well received for presenting the dark side to the world of web. And Jaaved Jaaferi gives us a much-needed reality check with the show and his recent interaction.

Speaking to Times Now Digital, Jaaved said though the digital medium has its pros and cons, when needs to be careful of being addicted to it. He spoke about youngsters being introduced to the internet at such an early age without realising who they are actually connecting with over the internet. There are no restrictions or censoring, he said adding that certain things must be censored because people of that age are impacted by these things. But according to him, it is not only youngsters but also people in their 20s and 30s who are getting affected by social media and are slipping into depression. “This whole complex is coming up, this insecurity is coming up. People are going into depression, it is creating havoc," he said.

He further said that internet has its own set of advantages and disadvantages. From exposing talent to spreading information and bringing people together, social media has opened up a world of possibilities, but it is when you get captured in the virtual world that chaos ensues.

The actor said that people who are affected by social media tend to lead a ‘second life’, far from reality and he is worried that’s what will happen with the Meta world as well. He said it has piqued the public's interest now but things can get worse. People think it's amazing, but it'll cause problems for the people who refused to live in the real world, he added.

Meanwhile, Escaype Live is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. Written and directed by Siddharth Kumar Tewary, it also features Siddharth, Shweta Tripathi, Swastika Mukherjee, Plabita Borthakur and Sumedh Mudgalkar, among others.
